Rock Island Reservoir Bank Stabilization
This project entailed three locations on the Columbia River that required banks stabilization methods due to heavy erosion. Working within a tight schedule based on fish migration, Pipkin crews deployed turbidity curtains for in-water excavation and embankment. The bank stabilization included 500 tons of boulders placed below ordinary high water mark, 1,250 tons of aggregates for slopes, a crib log retaining wall, anchored logs, and planting and seeding for full restoration of the banks.
